The City Government of Baliwag and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region III, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), for the implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Program, held at the City Hall Board Room, on July 10.
City Mayor Ferdie V. Estrella, substituted by City Administrator Enrique V. Tagle, along with PSA Bulacan Chief Statistical Specialist Elmor G. Baroquillo, cordially signed the agreement, with their aim to ensure accurate and timely vital registration, with a special emphasis on registering unrecorded births and civil registry documents for marginalized groups such as indigenous people, Muslim Filipinos, and the poorest sectors.
Furthermore, it also includes facilitating out-of-town registrations, implementing mobile registration via the Philippine Civil Registry Information System (PhilCRIS), and registering Philippine IDs for birth registrants.
The City Government of Baliwag emphasizes its firm commitment, through the City Civil Registrar’s Office, to uphold the principles of inclusivity, accessibility, and efficient service delivery in civil registration, eventually contributing to the overall welfare and empowerment of the community.
